The 16-line qigong formula was developed by Gong Jiuzhong, a Ming court physician several hundred years ago, in a book he wrote on the subject of health. Its effectiveness has been proven by many people for centuries, and it has been highly praised by health experts.
The formula reads as follows:
Tide water protects you from future problems;
The kindling flame provides inner peace;
Lock up the golden chest to stop wet dreams;
Protect the elixir area when you look fatigued and sickly;
Tighten your stomach to relieve indigestion;
Colds can be cured by tilting the body;
Tapping your teeth will relieve disease;
Visualization will not let your temples turn gray;
The rotation of the eyeballs will save you from eye diseases;
If you feel dizzy, massage your ears;
Walk in place with your palms facing up, and you will feel great;
Facial massage will provide you with rosy cheeks;
Self-massage promotes qi circulation;
Warming up the dantian area is beneficial for weakened people;
Light food is more nutritious;
A calm attitude towards life is more rewarded.
Now let’s explain this formula line by line.
1. TIDAL WATER PROTECTS YOU FROM FUTURE PROBLEMS
In the morning after waking up, sit cross-legged on the bed and focus on the dantian point below the navel. With the tip of your tongue on the palate, close your mouth and adjust your breathing so that it is slow, deep, and even. The “tidal water” that naturally fills your mouth should be swallowed in three sips. By using saliva in this way, the circulation of blood and qi in the body will become even, which will benefit health. This exercise increases your resistance to disease.

2. THE BURNING FLAME PROVIDES INNER QUIET
This exercise should be done twice a day, at midnight and noon. After clearing your mind of all annoying thoughts, sit cross-legged, close your eyes and look inside your body. Breathing calmly, inhale and hold some air in the dantian area, then exhale slowly. This warms up the dantian area and gives off a sensation of fire erupting from the kidneys as the body temperature rises to the level needed for metabolism and sexual function. If you practice this exercise for a significant period of time, all the vessels and meridians of your body will clear of blockages, all internal organs will function smoothly, and your limbs will become mobile and strong.
3. STOP THE GOLDEN CASKET TO STOP WET DREAMS
Wet dreams are mainly caused by intense sexual desire or an effusion from the kidneys, which are supposed to retain reproductive fluid. As the proverb says, “Sexual attraction leads to a weakening of the spirit, which, in turn, leads to a loss of vital energy.” To prevent or treat this problem, do the following exercise: Before going to bed at night, collect your thoughts and regulate your breathing so that it is slow and even. Rub your palms until warming, then alternately massage your navel, 14 times with each hand.
Then, focusing on the dan tien area, use both palms to massage the abdomen and ribs 36 times and rotate your shoulders from side to side 3 times before swallowing the accumulated saliva in your mouth. Sit quietly for a few minutes. Then lie on your side (preferably on your right side) with your legs bent. This is what we call “locking the golden chest,” meaning that this exercise prevents the flow of reproductive fluid and increases the flow of qi to the kidneys.
4. PROTECT YOUR ELIXIR AREA WHEN YOU LOOK FURIOUS AND SICK
Concentrate your attention on the dantian, or elixir area, and mentally protect it. By doing so, you will achieve permanent reimbursement of the “three treasures,” namely jing, qi, and shen. This exercise can be done not only when you are sitting quietly, but also lying down or walking, anytime, anywhere. Keep doing this exercise and you will feel the benefits.
5. STRENGTHEN YOUR ABDOMINAL TO REDUCE NADDIGENCE
Digestive problems are usually caused by stagnation of qi and blood, or excessive eating and drinking, or increased irritability. If the problem is allowed to drag on for a long time, it can damage the spleen and stomach. Hence, it is recommended to be moderate in food and drink and practice restraint in expressing emotions.

For those suffering from indigestion, the following exercise should be done: Sit cross-legged with your back straight and exercise your abdominal muscles with breathing, protruding your belly as you inhale through your nose and sucking in as you exhale through your mouth. Repeat 36 times. This exercise stimulates the movement of the diaphragm and abdominal muscles, improves the peristalsis of the digestive tract and removes gases.
6. COLD CAN BE TREATED BY TILTING THE BODY
Those with low initial qi and weakened immune systems are prone to colds. The following exercise is recommended for them: Sit cross-legged and breathe slowly and evenly. Gently supporting the crotch with your hands, lean forward and down towards the floor. Then straighten up and imagine that you are directing the qi from the dantian to all parts of the body.
Repeat this 42 times without interruption. You should now feel how all the pores of your body are burning with fire. Sweat will heal your cold. For those who are not sick, this exercise will help maintain clarity of thought, the eyes will become bright, and the face will be radiant with health.
7. GETTING TEETHING WILL REDUCE DISEASES
In the early morning, or at any other time of the day, lightly tap your upper teeth on your lower teeth 36 times. With persistent practice, your teeth will become very strong and will not fall out. Even better results can be obtained by rinsing your mouth with warm tea after exercise. This will remove the airborne infection and protect the teeth from decay. If you have bad teeth and cannot chatter, try gently licking the roots of your teeth with your tongue. This will help relieve the condition.
8. VISUALIZATION WILL NOT LET YOUR WHISKEY SIT
The gray hair on the temples is the result of a lack of qi and blood caused by excessive excitement and expenditure of spiritual energy. To keep the whiskey gray, do the following exercise once at noon and a second time at midnight every day. Sit up straight with your legs crossed and free your mind of all annoying thoughts. Then, using your imagination, direct your gaze to the crown and imagine a mass of yang qi moving in the following direction: from the coccyx at the lower end of the spinal column, up through the mingmen, jiaji and yuzhen to the baihui point at the crown, then down through the yintang points on the face and shanzhong on the chest in dantian below the navel. Do this three times, with short breaks in between. It helps to keep composure amazingly.
9. ROTATION OF EYEBALLS WILL SAVE YOU FROM EYE DISEASES
Before you open your eyes when you wake up in the morning, rub your palms until warming up, then slide them over your face 14 times. Keeping your eyes closed, rotate your eyeballs 12 times in one direction and 12 times in the other. Keep your eyes tightly closed for a while and then suddenly open them wide. Then press firmly on the Janzhu point 12 times to remove pathogens from the eyes. The constant practice of this exercise prevents corneal clouding and sharpens vision.
It is also possible to prevent or treat other vision-related problems if, in addition to this exercise, you continually practice gazing at distant objects.
10. WHEN DUZZEN, MASSE YOUR EARS
You feel dizzy when an airborne infection enters your head and your body becomes hot due to lack of qi. More serious cases can result in loss of speech from a stroke or even paralysis of half of the body. The following exercise will help cure this condition: Sitting cross-legged, regulate your breathing and massage your ears hard with your hands, shaking your head slowly 36 times. At the same time, visualize your inner qi rising to the upper dantian between the eyebrows, thus removing airborne infections and allowing you to feel clarity in your head and eyes. Healthy people will become even stronger by practicing this exercise. This exercise is not suitable for those with dizziness associated with kidney failure or excess yang in the liver.
11. STEP IN PLACE WITH PALS FIRED UP, AND YOU WILL FEEL BEAUTIFUL
Taking your feet alternately off the floor, as when walking, raise your hands as if supporting a stone, concentrating your attention on the dantian area. It will energize your bones and muscles, improve digestion and help maintain a good mood. With the true qi circulating through the internal organs, blood and qi flows evenly to the limbs. This exercise also has a tonic effect on the skin and makes it more resistant to cold and heat.
12. FACE MASSAGE GIVES YOU RED CHEEKS
An earthy complexion is often the result of overexertion or overexertion from work. If you want your face to glow with health, try this method: in the morning after waking up, rinse your mouth and sit quietly until your breathing becomes slow and even. Rub your hands vigorously to warm them up, then rub your face 12 times with them. Do this every day. After a while, you will notice the result.
13. SELF-MASSAGE PROMOTES QI CIRCULATION
As the saying goes, “Pain is the result of Qi stagnation and swelling caused by blood clotting.” Medicine: first regulate your breathing and then hold it by massaging the damaged part of the body with both hands about 50 times. Do this once or twice a day and the swelling will go away. A healthy person who constantly massages his limbs several times a day will find that his skin is clear and shiny as the qi and blood flow evenly through the jinglo channel system. This method is also called dry bath in qigong practice.
14. WARMING UP THE TANTIAN AREA IS USEFUL FOR WEAKENED PEOPLE
Concentrate and regulate your breathing. Rub your hands until warming up, then press them on your stomach so that the laogong points on both palms are above the navel. Do this once in the morning and a second time in the evening. After 10 days, you should feel warmth in the dantian area as it is filled with true qi. You will get stronger and be less exposed to cold and heat.
15. LIGHT FOOD, MORE NUTRITIOUS
A diet consisting of lighter foods with fewer heavy foods is easier to digest and absorb, maintains low blood viscosity and prevents blood clots. This is especially important for the elderly.
16. A QUIET ATTITUDE TO LIFE IS MORE REWARDED
When your body is filled with internal qi, try to keep it and do not indiscriminately use it. Don’t worry about circulating Qi through the two main channels, Du and Ren; it continues without your volitional efforts. Worry less and you will be rewarded with a longer life. published by econet.ru
