This spice is an excellent medicine and has bactericidal, antiseptic, healing, analgesic, antifungal, diuretic, antispasmodic, choleretic, antioxidant properties. Thanks to the latter, turmeric fights free radicals that damage the integrity of the cell membrane. Curcumin lowers the level of enzymes that cause inflammation in the body.

Creamy golden smoothie


  • 1 cup banana (ripe, chopped and frozen)
  • 1 cup coconut or almond milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger (more or less to taste)

  • 1 pinch of black pepper
  • 1 ground nutmeg
  • 1 pinch ground cloves and cardamom
  • 1/4 cup freshly squeezed carrot juice

Golden smoothie


Add banana, coconut milk, turmeric, ginger, cinnamon, black pepper and nutmeg to a blender and beat until creamy and smooth. Whisk in the cardamom, cloves, and fresh carrot juice. If the smoothie is too thick, dilute with copious amounts of coconut milk or water. If the drink, on the contrary, is too liquid, add ice or more frozen banana (but learn that banana will add more sweetness). Taste and tweak as needed with more cinnamon for warmth, black pepper and ginger for spice, turmeric for a more intense color, or banana for sweetness. Pour smoothie into glasses, sprinkle with hemp seeds. Enjoy!
