Stepping track on the site

The stepping path is made of large stone or large slabs on which you can put your foot.

The stepping track is not solid. This is its most important difference from the usual paths that are laid along the site. Between the separate platforms there is a lawn, just earth, pebbles, bark and other types of mulch. Why is this track called a stepping track? Simply – one step, two steps – you step from one platform-plate to another.

There are many advantages to stepping paths: it is much easier to lay out, everything can be done by hand, less material consumption – saving money and time, the site remains as green as possible, you can fit any style of landscape design and preserve the beauty of your lawn.

In the first step, of course, you need to decide exactly where your stepping path will go. Just select the area where such a passage is needed. For example, from the summer kitchen to the front door of the house, between the beds and trees in the garden, from the flower bed to the recreation area, and so on.

It is important to correctly calculate the pitch of the platform slabs. The track will be used not only by adults, but also by small children. Everyone should be comfortable, it should not be allowed that the younger family members had to jump from stove to stove. It may be fun, but not always safe.

Then the top layer of soil is removed, a drainage cushion of gravel and sand is set up – only in places where the platforms will be located. The parts of the walking path themselves can be made from anything – wood cuts, by pouring concrete, from flat stone slabs, lined squares of brick or ordinary paving slabs. You have a wide choice.

By the way, as you can see in our photo, a walking path can be laid through a reservoir, if there is one on your site. It will be very beautiful and more unusual than just a bridge thrown over a pond or a stream. In this case, of course, the platforms must be resistant to moisture, it is best to use natural stone. published by econet.ru
